Just a PR move to make the NFL look like a big soft fluffy warm caring family when that class action lawsuit starts up...."We didn't know about concussions....we nailed the Saints to the wall and we also care about the players when they get cut!"...Whatever-there's no counseling for me if i get laid off and have to figure out how to pay a mortgage. These douches should have a little "rainy day" cash laying around for emergencies.

At first I was thinking that I actually agree with it...it only allows the players who get cut, who may not have a backup plan to at least receive something.
But of course, it probably is only being done to avoid lawsuits, yet under the veil of "compassion." Either way, if they do it I am cool with it.
