It's because of zack Snyder directing that I'm trying to keep my expectations in check as I've never loved any of his movies. What he did with the watchmen still hurts.

I actually didn't mind The Watchmen. I enjoyed it.

And yes, I did read the graphic novel.

don't understand the snyder hate. he has some quality action films under his belt. i know "true" watchmen fans are pissed it wasn't a giant squid that ended humanity and brought about world piece (PLUS NO TALES OF THE BLACK FREIGHTER!!!) but that was a well done adaptation of the graphic novel.

The 300 and Dawn of the Dead were pretty well done too.

he's not GOAT in nolan or abrams level but 'withholding judgement because it's zach snyder' seems over the top.

I know next to nothing about superman other than the very basic information, but this movie looks awesome.

giving these super hero movies a certain depth of reality that I feel is lacking from most others. I have high hopes for this.

Kind of negates the purpose of superhero fantasy doesn't it? Since Nolan's Bat films are realistic and all.

Henry Cavill is still a terrible actor; he can't even scream convincingly but I have reasonably elevated hope.

Realism wont be what makes or breaks this movie

Making Superman an interesting Superhero (or atleast having a strong and interesting villian to carry the movie) will be the key. Which isnt easy

OK, I was apprehensive before this trailer, but this may be the Superman movie I've been waiting for, and hopefully the second will go even darker and more awesome. This may be the one that finally gets it right. Superman has weaknesses, and its that of a very fragile soul. Target that and give him a villain who can kick his arse, and you can make a great Superman movie. Looks like they've done it.

What Nolan does well is present and address the questions and conflicts that the specific superheroes bring to the environment with their presence. It looks like the focus of Superman's first reveal will be a 'we aren't alone' theme. Hopefully he addresses my favorite Superman theme of 'how much can Superman help the world before he hurts them through their dependency on him' theme.

While Nolan's interpretation of Batman is my favorite live action interpretation, it's still not my ideal vision. I want to see the psychotic paranoid, brilliant, and world's greatest detective Batman that struggles with isolation and self torment.

Just to bring some balance..

Snyder is the king of making great trailers.....So temper expectations. Other than that...
