Mettenberger Scouting Report UGA

I thought this was interesting. I wonder if Zach will resemble this report more under a real offensive coordinator, who specializes in QB development. I found the mobility and athleticism part interesting. Enjoy!
"Mettenberger is an ideal pocket passer, with outstanding measurables, arm strength and poise. He resembles Eli Manning in stature and fundamentals. Has everything a college program seeks in a young quarterback: size, athleticism, arm strength and very good overall intangibles. His mechanics, for the most part, are solid. Seems to have a feel for the game and is cool under pressure. Has a nice, high release and shows good quickness in his drops. He's a good ball handler who carries out play fakes well. Shows elite velocity on throws to the perimeter, nice touch and accuracy on short and intermediate passes. Can throw an excellent deep ball, but hasn't done so consistently. Shows great patience in the pocket, allowing his receivers to work themselves into the open. Has the toughness to take a hit on a play that is late to develop. Keeps his eyes downfield when rushed and can buy himself second chances. He's calm when facing the blitz and has enough movement skills to slide in the pocket and avoid some contact to get the ball off. But he isn't a scrambler and won't make many plays with his legs. Shows decent athleticism, but needs to play in a pro-style passing game (with a good dose of play-action) to flourish. His timing, rhythm and balance off the dropback are the traits that bring out his accuracy, arm strength and productivity. Mettenberger has pocket-passer size and the biggest arm and best ball revolutions in his class. He's one of this year's best passers and an excellent overall prospect."

Everything about Mett seems to match that scouting report except for the part above. With the help of a better o-line, quicker decision making, and more consistency hitting deep routes, he should get consideration to go before day 3 of the NFL draft.

That is alot of description for someone who had not yet played a game for them. Am I wrong?

You are aware of who makes scouting reports, yes?

For the most part, this seems very accurate to his current play.

Pretty good analysis.

Actually pretty good. Needs to work on his foot work, and i dont see him shakin off tackles. Hes no jamarcus.
Hopefully with a better oline, he will have more time. But he needs to get the ball out quicker. No oline can block forever.

These guys must have heard me screaming at the tv last season.

This. Amazing how much better he looked with the play action under Cameron in the Spring Game. The toss lead is gone and hence the PAP was much more effective. I am expecting big things this season from Mett for this reason...

That is one terrific scouting report. They make him sound like Peyton Manning.
He could very well live up to this report but he hasnt yet.
I will say the way he cut down on the turnovers last yr was pretty special and shows he's very coachable. He has the arm, the players around him and the right coach to be a high draft choice. Hopefully he takes advantage of this unique opportunity that he has been given this yr.
I do think he gets drafted way higher than what Kiper thinks but he still needs to prove that he can make more plays.

this scouting report was obviously done before he played a down in the SEC and is so inaccurate as to be laughable. as I am now laughing having just reread the report.
The thing about Mett is that he was improving towards the end of last season. With better plays, play calling, discipline, and pass protection this season he is going to be better. I think the speed of the game was to much for him at the beginning of last season as well. He is going to be more ready and confident this season, start hitting all those passes he barely missed, find his secondary recievers and just be a better all around QB this year.
