Just saying the drop-off between Moore and Chinea is huge defensively. Dean ended up being a serviceable first baseman BTW.

I feel like you are just saying that because you haven't seen them play much. Moore has played a good first base when he has been called on these past two years and there is a reason he is a backup to both corner infield spots.
As for Chinea, he hasn't done anything to be labeled bad defensively in his limited time at first.
ETA: Misunderstood you're point, thought you were comparing Moore and Chinea to Katz. NVM

I've seen them about as much as anybody. I saw many practices and all but one of the scrimmages.

I was comparing the defensive abilities of Moore and Chinea at 1B.

agreed on Chinea and Moore, but for whatever reason, Tyler can just not be given consistent playing time with PM this year
