Brumfield stood out to Rivals.com Midwest analyst Jason Howell and jumped 40 spots to No. 91.

"Going into RCS Houston, we already had a pretty good idea Brumfield was a special prospect. He is more of an interior prospect who is powerful, and he loves putting opponents on the ground," Howell said. "At RCS Houston, he did just that as he showed that strong punch and the feet to go with it to anyone who wanted a piece of the action. At the end of the day, he walked away with the offensive line MVP."

But he will be once Saban gets through with him. Isn't that what Rivals said to justify the Bama bump? That they know the coaching at Bama will make them right in 4 years?

No doubt. Its my biggest criticism of their ratings. Other than that, they are the best IMO, nationally at rating kids, but the Bama thing is almost like the politics of the IRS...and it really isn't anything to question, anymore...

Seems like a legitimate gripe before they won 3 out of 4 championships. What program is getting better players? Rivals probably does bump a guy Bama targets as a top priority but the results on the field seem to justify that bias.

This! I can not believe they would give this kind of bump...

well deserved.

The Hamilton kid is a good prospect. I don't know about #37 in the nation but whatever. He's good enough that Chavis still visited him after his Bama commit.

I like everything I have seen and read about this kids makeup. Love that he was an early commit too...that shows leadership to me.

He seems like not only a top flight athlete but a high character person. I think he will be a Nacho-Wilkerson-Mawai-McClure type representative for LSU. Glad he is a Tiger!

I did think it was interesting that the Bama LB commit went up 137, I repeat, 137 spots...that is a bit lofty of a jump...

The main thing is that every time a player seems to make a upward move of this magnitude, 9 times out of 10, it's a Bama commit...

For instance, if CR and LF commit to LSU and make any drop in rankings following it, then I'll verify that suspicion to match with 247.

Of course, I would be shocked to see either of those guys drop regardless of any school they would commit to...and also, kudos from Brumfield to crack the top 100...definitely have him in the right zone...

Shaun Dion Hamilton Highlights

Don't get me wrong, the kid looks like a hard hitter and good player...but, 137 spots can be debatable...sorry to digress...

These so called titles are only legit if you consider do overs, mulligans, backslidden poll politics, and unbalanced conference schedules. Only a simple minded fool actually believes bama really won the MNC in 2011. Lsu had the best team that year, outplayed bama last season, and annually fields as much or more talent than bama.

All 25 kids from every class do not see the field. Plus, rankings are suppose to be based on potential not potential plus who will be coaching them.

Based on facts, lsu still gets more players drafted to the nfl, even in the midget wonders tenure. Where's the lsu slobber rankings?
