I was asked to do this, if you don't care, dont comment! Though our season fell short today, it was a very successful season. Offensively, we did fall apart at the end but this season we were very dangerous offensively compared to other years. The freshman Torina has brough in made an impact!!They accounted for 21 of our 40 home runs and 109 of our 255 RBI's. Now with a year under their belt, and another off season development with Howard Dobson. They will be much improved next year.
This upcoming class Beth has reeled in top 10 in the country. This class adds a lot of talent to our pitchinf staff and brings a lot of weapons offensively, which we need. Here are the recruits:

Baylee Corbello- Attended Sam Houston High school, is one of the top pitchers in the state. In her sophmore year- Gatorade State Player of the Year... Class 5A Player of the Year.
Stats - 23-4 record, 337 strikeouts, 179 IP, 0.86 ERA, .496 batting average, 39 RBI, 3 home runs. She will develop into a great pitcher and will give us depth.

Sahvanna Jaquish- She is the #1 Catcher in the country. She was sought out by every division I school. Her bat will make an immediate impact, as she brings a lot of power. She will start at catcher but also is able to play in the infield. She will be a player who will be known after her freshman season.

Bailey Landry- Landry is the top player in the state this year. Offensively she has all the weapons. She can slap, she can hit for power, but her speed is what deadly. She is hitting .537 with a .988 slugging percentage. She has seven doubles, three triples, eight home runs and 28 runs batted in. Landry has struck out only three times in over 100 at-bats. She is very good defensively. She will compete for a crowded outfield spot next season.

Constance Quinn- Quinn is one of the top players in the state of Mississippi. Quinn is will be one of the best defensive players we will have had in years. She will give us a spark with her bat, , hitting .440, getting on base at a .562 clip and stealing four bases on four attempts. Despite a small frame, she has power as well, as she showed last year with five doubles, eight triples and four home runs. This season she has hit for 9 homeruns and 14 doubles. She will play in the middle of the infield

Kelsee Selman- She is argued as the BEST pitcher in the nation, she is the new Fico. She will be one of our starter next year and will make an impact immediately, even in SEC Play. Her Junior year, Kelsee Selman was 36-3, 0.62 ERA, 446 Ks, 246.2 IP; .361, 8 HRs, 38 RBIs, 12 2Bs her junior season. She leads the nation in strike outs.

This class will add weapons to the plate as well as continuing our tradition of dominant pitchers. I cannot wait to see these freshman up close. They will make their mark on the program quickly, I have no doubt. We return everyone all starters from this past season except for Fico. Ashley Czechner will be one of the top 10 pitchers in the nation next season. She developed a lot her first year under Torina.

Prediction- 44+ wins
We will finish in the top 3 in the SEC. Next year could be special!!

Thing is the only player in the lineup graduating is Houston so Jaquish is the only hitter stepping into guaranteed PT. I think her and Kloss will do the 2 catcher system again. I don't see any hitters being unseated unless they suffer a major injury.

Quinn and Landry will have time to develop to replace Blades and Falcon in '15. Hopefully Hailey Smith can develop to take over when Wray leaves.

Wray can be unseated....as good as her defense is, she has to prove that she can hit better than .180. She may actually have competition there going into next fall. And though Falcon is a senior to be, I don't totally think it's out of the realm that she could be replaced.

I agree Saints fan, the only players I see playing next year significantly are Selman and Jaquish, but the others will develop next year!!!

Probably good analysis based on your previous quotes, but they will be more experienced hitters with good recuits chasing for playing time -huh?

Torina will not be afraid to make a change, even if wray is a senior. She may have competition if she doesn't step up offensively. She has also gotten sloppier defensively towards the end of the season. I am rooting for her to prove me wrong!!!
What's confusing is at torinas last job, she didn't use the two catcher system. We will see how things play out. The outfield will be the same next season with Blades, Andrews, and Hey ward. Simmons will be at first, Bell will play shortstop. The only positions that is somewhat open is 3rd base and 2nd. Wray and Falcon were very inconsistent all season and they struggled offensively.

Baylee Corbello was injured at the beginning of year and wasn't 100% or her stats would be even better

Great analysis. I was thinking about doing this myself. I am hoping that the incoming recruits are able to come in and make a big impact. I think that only positions that are a lock for next year are the outfield, Bell, and Simmons. Third base has to be an open spot. Tammy Wray batting under 200 for two seasons straight and with her fielding being spotty towards the end, Torina will have to consider making a change here if Wray doesn't improve her bat. Hopefully one of the players projected to play middle infield can handle third if need be.

If Jaquish has the big bat on the next level, I can definitely see her being a full time starter at DP or catcher. The dp spot constantly change this year and we couldn't find any consistency there. Hopefully Savannah can step into this role.

As for Selman, I have seen her pitch and see has some good stuff. I hope that translates to the next level. With pitchers, no matter how good they look in high school, you can never tell how good they are going to be until you see them play against college level players Beth has developed Czechner into a better pitcher so hopefully she can continue to do that along with improving Selman. Our pitching staff will surely have depth and in today's game of softball that is becoming more and more necessary.

Bailey Landry will see time as a pinch runner, which is important in the game of softball, and another spot where we need some depth. Depending on how good she is I could possibly see her edge out one of the current outfielders, but I don't think so.

I definitely think this team will be capable of a 40 win season but I think that it is going to depend on how good Selman will be on the D1 level.

Why the criticism of Wray's defense and not Bell's. Bell is and will be a great hitter but she has a long ways to go before she is even good at shortstop. Wray sucks at the plate and definitely will be fighting for her position next year but it's not because of her defense. I think the only locks for next years batting lineup are Bell,Simmons, and Andrews and Maybe Blades. All the rest will fight for their playing time.Kloss should have the upper hand at the beginning of the season due to one year under her belt and she should improve even more on her swing. Looking forward to next year when the recruits will be Beths. Should be an exciting season. Thankyou girls for all the fun this year and see you next year.

She doesn't play error-free ball but she was fine at the 2nd hardest defensive position for a freshman.

Also looking at the stats she made more plays this year than Santos had to in 2012. Conversely Tammy's numbers defensively went down this year by a decent amount. Maybe that's just how they're hitting the ball or maybe she's wasn't ranging as well this season.

Because no matter how bad Bell's defense she is going to be in the lineup because of her bat. Bianka is the best hitter to come through this program since Rachael Mitchell. Before is all said and done she maybe the best hitter to ever play for the program. Also, I doubt Blades is taken out of the lineup. She was stellar in the outfield and did a lot a good things at the plate. Also, she will be a senior. I cannot imagine Beth replacing a senior who is a tested quantity and has perform well for a freshmen. Simone needs to get better at the plate so she maybe be a risk for losing her spot but I will note that she had the on base percentage. She got on base almost half the time.

She hit .333, she's fine. However I'd like to know her BA with runners are in scoring position. The people in front of her aren't the best at getting on but 1 RBI is crazy.

Heyward actually got better as the season went on. Bells bat will keep her @ shortstop. She was actually very good defensively this year. Aside from the gm yesterday
