I've heard great things about this place from people who ate at the one in Baton Rouge. This has a better location and building I would assume since it's on the river in River Ranch. I read where he is adding a few more things on the menu that will make more sense in Lafayette. The menu looks amazing with the redfish etc.

Website

I never knew he played O-line for LSU and was an All American

I went to the soft opening. It absolutley delivered.

There's alot of excitement surrounding this opening, I suspect they will do much better than Cochon.

Never asked, never really cared until now I guess, but what exactly is Ruffin to Ruffino's? I thought TJ owned it, just like he did when it was Dinardo's. is Ruffin a figure head, manager, part owner?

Better than Cafe V?
French Press?
Village Cafe?
Mazen?

He and Peter are partners. Moran has been out several years.

Correct. TJM sold the place to them--they are still paying him.

I hope they are holding plenty of Crown Royal. I know that is the drink of choice of Food Mavens in Laffy.

So did his father !

I appreciate Ruffinos for what it is, but it's no Pamplona.
