Last night I was cooking on the patio and some grease spilled over from the pot on to my concrete patio. I toke some water out side, threw it on the skill and began pushing it off the porch, (I just want to add that I have had enough to drink to say, "ah.. the hell with it, I'll clean it up in the morning"

Wrong! Double Wrong!

Woke up this morning and there was grease all over the concrete, after searching the interwebz I came to discover that I might as well prepare my anus..

So, the first thing I did was use some good ol' dawn, (should've known better),... WRONG

from what I can gather from the interwebz is that the first thing I shoulda done was throw kitty litter all over the grease.. well, I don't own cats, was WAY to drunk to be going anywhere and so was everybody else at my place..

So here is where I sit now, got some degreaser and powder laundry detergent outside sitting till it forms a paste.

After that, it's in tOB's hands..

So fellas, what is the best way to get set in grease out of concrete?

Wait til it gets more grease stains then paint over it all...

ETA seriously, I've got an assload of grease stains under our carport and I've clean that thing many times many different ways and nothing has come close to getting them out.

Seriously, mastIc release strips 30+ years of adhesive floor tile glue from foundations.

Pressure wash it off with simple green. Bad thing is that you'll have to pressure wash the entire slab to keep that one patch from standing out. The good thing is you'll have a shiny clean slab.

Dawn liquid pour it on and let it sit until it rains

Better than kitty litter, pressure washers and Dawn.

You'll need to get a buffer to work the release into the foundation.

I train asbestos contractors.

Nothing on demolished slabs are left.

DEQ wouldn't allow it, post-Katrina.

Grease is the Chuck Norris of stains. They leave when they want and until then there is nothing you can do about it

why

LA Congressional Act 662, enacted in 2006.

Demolished slabs were sent to recycling centers.

Anything left on slabs was considered to be asbestos containing and therefore not 'cleared' by DEQ for recycling.
