I made the switch today and just realized I have all the sports channels I thought I could want, including ESPNU, NBATV, MLBTV, NFLN, Sunday Ticket, etc. The one I didn't think about was FSNO. I went to it and it's not working. Trying to figure out if I need to pay for the sports package for this 1 channel

yes I have direct tv and fox sports new Orleans is 678. Majority of the time nothing is on the channel and you have to watch the fox sports southwest channel.

So do you pay more a month for it? Obviously so. I just saw that its $7 to get the local sports stations. In my area, it includes the Rangers and Pels. Ill just wait until October to get it.

i live in birmingham and have fsno on directv. i never got to watch any hornets games on that channel as they were always blacked out. i could watch the pre and post game shows, but not the actual games.

I have DirecTv and I had to buy the sports package to get FSNO. I turn it on during the season and turn it off once the season ends.

You have to factor in your market, as the answer will be different in different places.
FSNO is just a retooling of FSHouston, which is a sort of offshoot of FSSW. With some broadcasters, you see FSNO on the same station as FSSW, and if FSNO is actually broadcasting something, you see it. If not, you see FSSW.
With DirecTV, you don't get the feeds superimposed. This is a help in some ways, a burden in others. What they can broadcast where depends on a number of things, so you need to just monitor the station to get data and try to talk to DirecTV, but most frontline people will not get what you are talking about even if they think they do.
You best bet is to state your locale and hope that someone else where can tell you specifically what you need to do to so Pelicans games if the situation has not changed from last season.

if you are outside of a certain region, buying the sorts package wont give you the games. you'll have to go league pass. that happened to me. north texas.
