Just found an LSU season pass ticket for all events from 1924-1925
Posted by jscrims on 5/18/13 at 2:08 pm00
My mom a while back had made me this sweet LSU old school memorabilia frame thing. As I was hanging it up, I took a closer look at a few of the things in there and I saw a season pass to all LSU events from 1924-1925. I thought it was pretty awesome to see that. I have a few other tickets from the Tulame game in 1963 and some other things along those lines but I thought it was pretty awesome. Also included is an old school license plate cover my grandfather used to have on his car from the 50's.
Yea, I know CSB but I thought it was pretty awesome to see something from 1924-1925 from the team I love and it in pretty decent condition.

That was right when the transition was occurring from the old campus to the new one, right?

Those are cool! I have tons of tickets and the little booklets dating back to the fifties from my Dad. Has any one done anything cool with a whole bunch of tickets? Though this would be a good place to ask. I know Pinterest for gay tiger fans.

I don't even know where those BR games were played before 1924.

I've recently read there was a stadium between the current location of the State Capitol and the location of the Old Arsenal.
I don't recall right off where I found this info.

This is correct LSU played on a field near the pentagon barracks... In fact IIRC the barracks are actually built where the field was.
Source: took a class on it at LSU.

Whoever taught your class didn't know the history...the Pentagon Barracks were built by the US Army as billeting for the Baton Rouge garrison, when the Army left in 1872, GEN Sherman helped to get them turned over to LSU...Huey Long bought the land from the University in order to help fund the present campus....

Sherman did many things to help LSU in the early years. The hate some have for him is misplaced.
