Some of you think clapping for other teams players is bad for some reason. Skip disagrees. It is a sign of a knowledgeable group of fans and it shows class.

quote:

After all the wins and the glory, the thing Bertman is proudest of may be surprising.

“The fact that the fans clap for the other team is what I enjoy most,” said Bertman, who recalls having to tell fans in his early days they were umpires, not referees, calling the balls and strikes. “I love that. They give a standing ovation for a great pitching performance by the other team.”

Clapping for a guy who throws a dominate game against us and then comes out is one thing.

Letting Stony Brook round the bases and then high five them after the game is another.

The position of most isn't the acknowledgment of good play by your opponent but the celebration of another teams victory at the hands of our own.

Aren't you acknowledging good play by your opponent in both situations? Im not saying fans should be happy with an LSU loss, but shaking a guys hand and saying you played well and good luck is hardly celebrating the other teams victory...Isnt that what players and coaches do after the games?

I get most of you guys' argument in regards to Stony Brook, but how can you not tip your hat to them after the way they came in to the Box and put it on LSU. Not only did they do something that school probably never thought they would do, which is make it to Omaha...but they had to beat one of the most storied programs in NCAA baseball history in their back yard to do it.

If I were there, I doubt I would have been high fiving them and going crazy, but I would have definitely been standing up clapping. They earned it.

Cyrus, HCB will be in full PMS mode until Jacoby returns to the lineup. Cut him a little slack.

Those who don't want to acknowledge that LSU got beat by a better team/performance that day, can just leave the stadium and go burn a few couches in anger. That'll show 'em.

It was fine giving UNC-Wilmington the lap, because they beat Tulane and gave us an extra inning game.

This, however, is not fine.
