I hope this keeps up re: LSU's expectations. The press is short-stroking it all over Bama (understandably) and A&M (due to the presence of college football's poster boy) so it's great to see LSU getting very little love and notice.

Braden Gall (@BradenGall)
I have major concerns about LSU being able to maintain its recent level of elite national championship contention. This roster has loads of talent on both sides of the ball but is 10-4 in it's last 14 games and just watched more than a dozen elite players depart the roster for the NFL. The game's most important position is still manned by Zach Mettenberger, who has done little to prove to me that he is capable of winning big-time football games in the nation's toughest conference. He has excellent receivers so there is no excuse for him to be so inaccurate and inefficient. And finally, this schedule is downright nasty. While LSU appears to be trending in the wrong direction, every other SEC team appears to be getting better. Road games at Georgia, Alabama, Ole Miss and Mississippi State are all extremely difficult while home tilts with Florida and Texas A&M are no joke. Toss in a neutral site game with TCU in the season opener and always heated divisional rivalrly tests with Auburn and Arkansas and the Tigers have the making of a four-loss season. An 8-4 regular season may be the ceiling for a team that appears to be well past its best days.

Gall is a punk. He has never had anything good to say about LSU and he really has it out for Miles. He was one of the few so-called reporters that said that Miles was winning inspite of himself. He has called Miles a buffoon and a goofball. He never bases his assessment on his opinion and not on fact. He has been predicting the demise of the program since Miles got to LSU.

TCU (tough cause its the first game)
Bama
aTm
Florida
Georgia
Ole Miss
And possibly Auburn, given new coach and tons of high ranked recruiting classes

All possible losses.
Would be very surprised if we go better than 9-3.

LSU does have Florida and Georgia from the East on its schedule, but the Gators and aforementioned Aggies will both have to venture to Death Valley. Even with the questions surrounding the offense and the seven defensive players (eight if you include Tyrann Mathieu) that were taken in April's NFL Draft, Miles always seems to find a way to win a game (or two) that he has no business doing so. "The Mad Hatter" pulls out another one of those this fall (against the Gators? Aggies?), as the Tigers finish 5-3 in the SEC.

TCU = win
Bama = 50/50
aTm (at home) = win
Florida (at home) = win
at Georgia = 50/50
Ole Miss = win
Auburn = win

LSU will be either 10-2 or 11-1.

I like it myself! Let us be under the radar, so we can walk into people's houses and stomp a mud hole in their a**.... especially in Nov! I think this D will be better than last year, and the Offense will be much improved Hill or not.... Geaux Tigers! 12-0

Seems Athlon is ignoring what is happening here or they just haven't looked. I'm as optimistic about this season (and next) as any in the recent past.

After LSU kicks TCU arse everyone will be back on our backwagon. It's us against the world or us against Saban. One of the two

10-2 imo

You're worried about a team that just lost to Louisville, whose qb is worse than ours beating us in Death Valley? Meh

Also their defense lost Elam, Bostic and Floyd

Auburn

TCU

Minus their best player on Defense and a QB who hasn't taken a snap in a year. We win by 2 TDs

WTF? LSU has been one of the elite teams in the country in recent years, played for a NC not long ago and is the only team that has had continued success with beating Bama. Furthermore, show me were Georgia (hasn't won an SEC title in forever), Florida (skull drug by fricking Louisville), Ole Miss (hasn't done shite against a quality opponent), Arkansas (train wreck), Auburn (train wreck), Miss St. (train wreck) has improved. He is accurate with his assesment of Mett and the offense, but dead wrong about LSU trending downward and everyone else getting better. That said, 9-3 is a fair ceiling this year, anything less is a disappointment and anything better than that is a success.

No reason why we shouldn't enter the Alabama game undefeated.

10-2, Cotton Bowl (secede from SEC if we go to the Chicken)

0.

Per the sports media in the southeast, LSU lost ALL their players to the NFL draft and will not be able to field a team this fall.

Sorry guys.
