Sinus infections are no fun, this is true. I had one that took two trips to the doctor and caused me to miss work for an entire week.

And there well could be something in the SoCal climate (not present in the DFW climate) that could be triggering an allergy.

Either or both could have caused his slow start to the season.

Unfortunately Josh has a history of excuse making (quitting dip, blue eyes, laying off energy drinks) and like the boy who cried wolf, no one believes him any more.

I do not feel sorry for him. He quit on the team last year in the middle of a pennant race. Ridiculous.

that's what set me over the edge. I don't give a shite about what pro's do in their spare time, until it becomes detrimental to the team.

My favorite was Jesus is mad at me for chewing tobacco. In a close second, is having blue eyes makes it hard to hit in day games.

I wonder if he would be "off" if he was still on the Rangers. I think he would have a but better numbers right now had he accepted the offer the Rangers made. Still it appears his decline will be steep and sharp which is off considering he is still relatively young.

It's always something with this guy.

But I do feel bad for him. He's a former addict who just untethered himself from his entire support structure. There's just no way the Angels are going to bend over backwards for this guy like the Rangers did, and I think he needs that to be a productive member of society, much less a good baseball player. And I think the extremely virulent reactions he is encountering at pretty much every AL West stadium can't be helping the guy. I'm talking on a personal, stay off drugs kind of level. Some guys can shrug off the fans as part of the job... I don't think he can. I think he needs the adulation of others.

exactly. the guy is an addict and he decided to take a little more money instead of stay with the club that helped him get clean.

that's not a great life decision IMO

What if I told you that there was an MLB team that got abused as a cum dumpster for other teams damaged goods?

ESPN presents the Assinine Angels. Part of the 30 for 30 series. Directed by M. Night Shyamalan.

However, the fact that he quit on the team in the second half and couldn't make adjustments at the plate after May told me it was the right decision.

I wish I could pull up the thread of him signing with the Angels. I said that much.

Here ya go:

" I have predicted on this board that the Rangers would not resign him for several reasons: 1) They didn't want to go over budget, 2) He's on the wrong side of 30 with past drug abuse and a history of bizarre injuries and 3) The way last season ended with him not hustle/caring and being out for an extended period of time with weird injuries."
