Since we had to take one for the team and play in the 2012 game to protect A&M and UGA, does that mean a 9-3 or 10-2 LSU team is exempt from the Chicken Bowl 2013?

Due to the total lack of enthusiasm from last year, I doubt the CFA Bowl ever wants LSU again.

(Here' to hoping we both don't have that problem this year)

was amazing how empty that stadium was, can't see a situation in which they'll ever want us back there, and personally im ok with that, its a shitty bowl game

Exempt in theory, of course.

There's no rule against a team playing in a bowl five times in a row.

If LSU was slotted to play there again, you would think that the SEC commish would work his magic and arrange us to play in the Cotton or Outback in fairness to the Chicken Bowl committee.

Man, I hope so. That lost stung more than Bama or Florida. To watch the lack of enthusiasm and the fact that everyone knew we deserved to be in a much better bowl... it was such a shitty was of the system giving us the finger and us having to deal with it.

That's when Spurrier said, "You can't spell Citrus without UT".

Unlikely, if the CFA higher-ups want to make any money. I hope they learned their lesson from last year...!

If were not in the national championship I don't care what bowl were in, They are all meaningless. College football needs a tournament style playoff system so badly. Top 10 teams get in.

Starting in 2014, the Chick-fil-A is one of the six major bowl games, and those games are played with a triple header on New Year's Eve and a triple header on New Years Day. So only one more season until "playing in the Chicken bowl" and "not even playing in January" are a thing of the past.

Yeah we are going to play there again. It wont seem like a let down. Only to people that dont like ATL.

I find it funny that our fans chest thump 2 wins against GT and one against UM. Yet they despise the bowl gane.

IMO, calling it the chicken bowl has a lot to do with it. No fan base gets excited to go to the Name Brand bowl. They have really watered down their product by doing this.

Sorry, I thought you were talking about conference championships in basketball for a second.

The NCAA tourney has definitely done a lot insofar as matching up the best two teams in college basketball for sure.

I dont' think it would've been much better had we gone to the Cotton Bowl. Losing to Bama the way we did, ruined the season. It seemed as if the coaches, players, and fans just wanted the season to be over after that.

I think playing the Sooners would have made up for that.

But you are right about the team after Bama. No one can deny how poorly our defense played after they gave up that drive. The team (and the fans) put all their eggs in one basket last year.
