LSU is the only one I know of here. I have used a couple of places that I mailed the samples to.

What kind of info are you looking for? I originally was going to put you in touch with a geotechnical firm for foundation info but the first response has me thinking you want lawn info.

There are tons of analytical laboratories. What do you want to test for? Petroleum hydrocarbons, asbestos, metals??
Check good ol Google search for "soil analytical labs in N.O".

You can buy soil testing kits for a variety of chemicals or properties (pH, etc...). I think you can even buy a pH kit from Lowe's. What are you testing for?

Co-op, or your county will have a dept that can do this for you.

Most nurseries have a kit you buy for a couple bucks and send it off to LSU for analysis. I know I saw one in Clegg's this weekend and I think they were $10.

Send samples to LSU, they will answer the questions you have listed about your soil. They will also be available to discuss and make recommendations

Very helpful
