I'm actually currently looking now for places to rent in uptown/midcity/lakeview. Going to see this house today uptown close to tulane.

I just want to experience living in NOLA for a year or so before I start to raise a family. I've lived in BR when I was at LSU and currently with my parents (year removed from college) so I guess anything at this point would be nice.

Blind Pelican has a great outdoor area, but I was there Saturday and their drinks were weak! I had three vodka drinks and didn't even have a slight buzz. No one at the table did.

Where do you want to live?

I have a friend that does real estate that would be happy to help if it's in the downtown area. she could probably put you in touch with someone in other areas of the city

Honestly it depends on which job comes through. They're both downtown (same building actually), but one is probably about 60 hr/w and the other is probably anywhere between 80 and 90. If I end up with the latter, I want to be downtown, if I end up with the former, I'm more comfortable living uptown, downtown, or potentially even the Quarter.

So, I really haven't decided yet, but I've become recently become really fascinated by the idea of taking the streetcar to work everyday and just riding it all over the place like a f'n boss. If I can get a place on St Charles between Napoleon and Louisiana (#mardigrasreasons), I'll be pretty ecstatic. I saw a couple pop up, I just can't move on them until I get an offer. If by some act of personal terror they both fall through, I've really got no choice but to go back to Houston.

Same here. I've been in Atlanta the last 2 years but would really like to be in New Orleans within the next year or so.

I thought I'd be in Houston for another 2 years, I had just started my second job there back in September and was expecting that to really be the final piece of the puzzle. Then I got laid off 4 months later. I figured I'd come back and look and see what was out there now with a few more years of experience tacked on, and it looks like it might work out swimmingly.

I did something very similar almost 3 years ago. I went to Houston for a different reason though.

I would imagine you're pretty good with cleaning grout too.

I do not mind Houston as a place to live, I just don't want to be there anymore and I've pretty much mentally checked out. If I end up having to go back, I will feel pretty defeated, not gonna lie. I'm ready to get back to where I belong.

It's close to my house and my favorite tavern. Hope it's decent. Might as well add to the other 25 or 30 places within walking distance.

We're talking about New Orleans, right? Any chance I don't know them?

Just make sure you've got the arsenal with you bro. Who knew oysters could stir up so much.

I have been told that open carry of my oyster knife should keep me safe.

BTW, I'll be at The Rendezvous Tavern during happy hour this afternoon/evening. Nobody mess with me. I'm armed and dangerous.
