Arrested Development...what am I missing?

I loved Seinfeld, Curb your Enthusiasm, South Park, The Simpsons and movies like Clerks, Office Space, Old School, Walk Hard and the Other Guys, but I'm having a "meh" reaction to Arrested Development. It's ok, fine. But, it's not laugh out loud. It's pleasant, but, it seems predictable and formulaic.

I'd like to know as well. Like you I've always loved Seinfeld and find those other shows original and clever, but I just don't get this one I guess. My gf and a guy at work swear it's the funniest show ever made. I tried watching the first few episodes of the series and it just didn't make me laugh or even say "oh, that was a clever joke/scene."

I was in the same boat, I think you need to keep watching - I'm assuming you haven't watched the entire series, otherwise this post wouldn't exist.
AD is solid for sure if you loved the shows you mentioned.

I wasn't super impressed until I hit like episode 4 or 5 or something around that. But when I finally watched that fourth/fifth episode, I fell in love and could not stop watching.
