I got my arse hammered for asking a question that I didn't know the answer to. I mean come on. Are PC people this mean all the time?

It's an arrogant crowd for sure. Even on the big forums that are supposedly there to help the answer quite often is "did you read the stickies" and "use the search function".

PC guys quickly grow weary of answering the same questions over and over and would much prefer to flex their e-peen over new topics.

Yes.

We are all sociopath elitist.

I drive cars not made in the USA (but assembled), cook on a Big Green Egg, wear Oliver Peoples glasses, wear clothes you never heard of, listen to obscure music with meaning, have multiple Tag watches, never eat at franchise restaurants, support the CCA and in my spare time build crazy "Titan'est" gaming rigs.

Yes we have a bad attitude towards the outside world; we just know PC gamers are better than the average human.

Well said.

It isn't answering the same simple question over and over; it is that the simple question can be answered with Google.

Probably first hit!

VA I almost had a 3rd yesterday but the GF decided to buy me a Large - BGE. (Birthday present, May 16)

Glad she did so since I have been wanting one. Cooked on it last night... you could probably make shoe leather taste good!

..but to get back to the reasoning why most PC guys seem arrogant, ILikeLSUToo said it best.

We are just tired of answering the simple questions over and over when the questioner does not do his research before asking.

ETA:
This PC gaming community should get together and build a rig for one pure console gamer (like broke).

Something mid range and put together with spare parts from all of us.

I have CPUs, GPUs, cases, MOBOs, RAM, fans, fan controllers, PSUs and other things just stacked in large Rubbermaid containers. I'm certain most of you have the same.

Since they like controllers; we can make them a "Steam Box" for the living room.

This is a great idea. The sad part is that it will be infinitely better than anything I own. Even with everybody's leftovers.

Broke

That bad part with conoles in the future will be 2yrs from now you could build a much better console yourself for cheaper. (Since all platforms will be x86)

I agree to an extent. In the 'ignorant peasants'' defense though:

1) It is simple to us (and even then not everything is really 100% clear for builders) because we do it somewhat frequently and know where to look, what to look for, what to ask, etc. Most common folk are totally new and clueless and it can be extremely overwhelming.

2) Even if you do your research there is a TON of bad info out there and lots of poor suggestions are being made. Hell I've been looking to build a water loop for my rig and have had people say the setup will work great and some say it won't work at all. At least here we somewhat know and trust each other (at least as much as you can on a message board ) and it feels more personal.

But yeah, sometimes it does get absolutely ridiculous.

I wish we had a little sub-forum or separate board or something for some type of marketplace. I probably have enough parts laying around for 2 decent builds and 1 pretty solid one. It would be great to be able to swap and sell with each other easily on here.

I am so confused what this has to do with anything.

I heard Broke hates watches anyway.

That can be set up easily. It would be nice to keep clutter off of here and that way Chicken won't get pissed at people using the GB like it's Craigslist.

Exactly. Without having separate threads or subforums for different components it would be too tough to wade through. It sucks reading old posts in a thread where someone sells something I was interested in.

5 more minutes of me tweeking this and it would be good enough to do what you want and it's free so it can stay up forever just for us to trade amongst each other. It can even be locked to just members to see.
