Saw it this afternoon as part of Mother's Day. It was better than I thought (ie not over the top) although it could have been funnier. The 3.8 average on imdb seems a little harsh. I'd give it at least a 6. Maybe a 7.

I didn't remember that it had Kerry Washington in it, so I f'ed up my Django boycott. We were originally going to see Gatsby, which may have been the better choice. A 7.5 so far on imdb.

Exactly. I saw his last movie, whatever it was with Denise Richards and that was one of the worst movies that I ever paid to see. I did lol during some of the earlier Madea movies despite my best intentions.

Just a personal decision to not watch Tarantino movies or movies with Jamie Foxx or Kerry Washington for a while.

Did you see Django?

Or are you just being like Spike and refusing to watch it because White People say the n word in it?

Because I saw it with some black people and they loved it. I think if anything it is very pro-black. It was for blacks what Inglorious Basterds was for Hebrews.

A good movie.

Yup.

Enjoyed Django immensely.

I don't love my mother enough that I would subject myself to a Tyler Perry movie.

I seriously cannot find anything remotely funny or entertaining about Tyler Perry.

No doubt. When he started killing white people, black people in my theater were cheering.

Why would one come to such a personal decision?
