Early last year I thought this guy was going to be a big thing. Then the injury. Any ideas as to why he hasn't returned to the same level this year? Injury related? Other guys just passed him up? In his opportunities, mostly PH and mid-week, it seems he just strikes out too much.

I don't want to down the kid because he's been through a great deal and he did it with true grit. However he wasn't tearing it up before the injury as a freshman. I believe he's playing to his talent level which is pretty darn good but LSU has better players available.

He pressed hard coming back, worked out for him early on, but he couldn't keep it up.

He will be the starting LF next year.

This. I dont get where people thought he was hitting something like .350 last year and was an ungodly fielder or something. He was solid but not super-special last season. It was definitely unfortunate about his injury though. I hope he gets a good shot to start next year, just depends on how much Laird/Stevenson/Foster develop as well as newcomers.

We need somebody that can throw the ball. For as good as Laird and Stevenson are defensively, they throw some lollipops.

Dont forget we have 2 extremely talented freshmen outfielders coming in next season. I havent heard of them being high draft risks either. Both were given a perfect game 10 out of 10.

Jarret DeHart

Jake Fraley

Do not be surprised if either one of them start next season. Both are left handed hitters.

. But what I don't get is Sciambra's avg is almost a whole .100 better than Stevenson's. But I trust PM

Don't guess you saw Laird's peg to the plate that held the runner on third!

To piggy-back on your point, since Landy left we've been looking for a replacement. Sciambra's play last year seemed to be the 'best of the worst', not to downplay the kid because he has shown some flashes, but I think we forget how we've struggled in the outfield the past few years.

I don't think anyone was running on that shallow fly out no matter who was in the outfield bra!
