For those of you who don't like Zach Mettenberger...

You really need to change your mind about his first year. He was in NO way a bad quarterback. He threw for 2600 yards this year which is MORE than what Matt Flynn threw for in 07.
People also try to make the argument that he didn't step up in the big games. Well he stepped up in the Florida game by throwing that nice third down pass to OBJ who fumbled it unfortunately. Plus, in the Alabama game, he played about as good as any QB has played against Bama the past few years.
You guys really need to give him a break. I know he's not perfect, but he's definitely better than JJ, and he can win games for us. I expect if he builds on what he accomplished last year, we'll have at least a ten-win season, but probably better.
That's my rant for today. Here's to success in future Tiger Football

Could also mention that Mett played behind a constantly changing offensive line.

I hope this is Mett's year. Last year, he was so slow in the pocket it was painful. But he throws a nice ball.

Lots of QBs do that. I understand it's a problem, but it's in no way detrimental to the offense

It's a problem, but it's not detrimental. It's not like fumbling, getting sacked constantly, or throwing interceptions all the time. It's just losing a down.

why, because you say so? I'll change my mind about Mett when his play on the field warrants it. that said, if I had to grade him out on last years performance I would give him an 84/100 or a B+. yeah, he had to deal with chaos on the oline and he had receivers who were underwhelming in the early going, but aside from the Bama game he many times looked lost. we all hope this is his year and we all hope that Cam has made the tweeks necessary, but until I see consistant progress on the field I will hold my judgement. by the way....I really like Zach Mettenberger and I really want to see the kid blossom. JMO.

thats like saying dropping a sure pick 6 on 2nd down means nothing when the opponent goes down the field to score on that drive. You only get so many chances to score. If Mett blows every single one of those out of fear of being intercepted, eventually it is going to catch up to you and you will be a chic fila bowl losing team.
