Given the tight numbers, I actually hope he takes his talents else where. He will be a 1 and done and chances are he won't significantly change the overall fortunes of what ever team he goes to. In other words, will signing DW make Auburn a BCS CG contender? No. A&M and Alabama will be Contenders regardless, I don't think him and him alone would make or break LSU's NC hopes. Last he might have been the difference for us, but I don't see it in 2013. Give me Blacknall, Dupre, Noil and maybe Quinn and call it a day.

That's what I've been saying since everybody was talking like we need him so badly.Get Blacknall and Dupre on board. Now since you have Chark and Upchurch, try to sway either Quinn or Noil and we can wrap this year up. We needed Leslie and he would have been here for two years when we got em. Quille is one and done so it doesn't make any real sense to get him for a year when we have so many talented guys in state for 2014.

I don't post much. I just lurk and read for comic relief. I don't think it's about being prima donnas. These kids see what's happening. It's a business. The days are long gone of having kids playing big time college football just for the education and love. They see the contracts. They hear the stories.

Recruiting is a dirty game. It's all about perception. I really think the La recruits want to come to LSU. But, when you have a thousand coaches feeding you info (a lot proven to be false), you are going to give a second guess to the biggest decision of your life. These guys want to be pro players. ALL of them.

Again, it's perception. For Auburn, it's Gus Malzahn and Cam Newton circa 2010. Lets see what happens without that freak of an athlete at QB. 2011 wasn't too great. One time is a mistake. Two times is a trend.

They see LSU on TV nationally every week. Other teams, not so much. So it's easy to get a sampling. We are essentially two plays away from being in the SEC championship and ultimately playing for another title. If that happens, the offense is questioned a little less.

It is a gut feeling, but I think that this year will be special. We'll get our recruits. Just let Cam do his thing. Let the dust settle. Just be fans and be happy for our kids. LSU will survive.

Also, he is also interested in Texas and AU but questions our offense. I don't even know what to say to that.

Me either. Do you know what their WRs have produced since 2010? Each team(including LSU) for the past 3 years has only produced 1 WR with at least 800 receiving yards, so What in da fugg is he talking about?

Not a knock on the '14 freshmen, but what happens if Beckham, Landry and Leslie all leave early (a good possibility) while Boone and Wright graduate?

What are we left with? Fobbs, Armand, Dural, Diarse and Peterson. Five guys that have yet to see the field and likely won't see it most of this year (except for maybe Dural).

You say we NEEDED Leslie when, in truth, we may need D'haquille more in 2014 than we need Leslie this year

I'm also sick of tired of these kids doing this. This was our dream team year. Shut your mouths and sign with us

Assuming all those guys leave, we'll have:
Dural
Peterson
Spears
Diarse
Plus whoever we sign in 2014, which looks like up to 5 freshman.

Also guys like Jefferson and Brazil that were considered possibilites at WR and Holmes was a WR at one point, not sure if he will get any PT at DB this year or not.

That's what I put underneath that part. Yeah that would be a lot of potential talent there, but would also be a lot of inexperience out there competing in a conference that has won the last 7 national titles.

You insert a guy like D'haquille to give a sort of veteran presence and can easily take on the No. 1 WR role. He is more of a need than Leslie was last year

Our 2 starting WRs were 5'11 and 6'0 in 2012 with Boone as the occasional starter. We needed a big guy, tall receiver that we could push the ball downfield with. In 2014 we would have Dural, Peterson, Spears, Blacknall, and Dupre and Upchurch who are all "at least" 6'2. We would also have Smith and Washington at TE so what is the point of wasting a spot on a one year player when you have legit 3 year talents right in your face?

We will have either a redshirt freshmen QB or a TRue sophomore making his first ever start.

An elite talent like Williams will make his job WAY easier, and will cancel out some of his faults.

We need Williams

By 2014 Dural, Peterson, Diarse will all have SEC expirience, which, talented as he maybe, Williams will not. Also keep in mind we will have a new starting QB.

Dural? Yes. Peterson? Likely. Diarse? Doubt it but we'll see after summer practices where they stand

Even more reason to have a talent like D'haquille to ease his concerns when he is a hostile environment on the road

That's all speculation. You saw last year we needed a big tall reciever with above average speed to catch Mett's deep balls and we suffered because Dural was injured and Leslie couldn't qualify. Dural or Peterson will be in the starting rotation this year and have better quality experience against SEC competition so that veteran thing is a moot point. They will have about the same amount of experience.

In fact, he’s still talking frequently with the LSU Tigers. “I’ve been talking with the LSU coaches,” he said. “I really want to be there, but I don’t want to be there. I just want to see what their offense does, because if you look at it, they haven’t been producing no good receivers. Don’t get me wrong, I like LSU, but D’haquille Williams is open to any school.

The football's like a one-man cold to D'haquille Willams. D'haquille Willams' the only man catchin' it, D'haquille Willams' the only man comin' down wid it.

I don't get that part either. We just sent Reuben Randle to the second round of the draft in which he is now starting for the Giants. We sent Lafell who is the #2 receiver in Carolina. Bama sent Julio, and Texas sent Shipley, Auburn doesn't have a guy. Is he stupid, ill-informed, or just a lier?

hmm I hope he comes to LSU but at this point we will be ok. Yes the offense will be better than last year, thats not saying much but I feel it is a fair guess.

I've seen several posters mention the possibility of Landry & Beckham leaving after this year. I have no clue what their family income situation is (if Beckham went to Newman, I'm assuming he's not struggling), but does anyone in here really think either of them could go in the top 3 rounds based on what they've seen so far?? Neither one of them are 6 ft tall in bare feet, no breakaway speed & don't exactly have stick'um on their gloves. Both will be here for their senior year - book it.

What games have you been watching when Landry is playing. He is a circus act with the balls he catches. CBS awarded the "catch of the year" award in a superlatives show hosted by Tracey Wolfson before the LSU/Ark game last season to a pretty decent one hand TD catch (may have been ND TE). Landry's TD catch in that game had the announcers proclaiming that catch to be better than the award winner...

Landry's NFL value is as a possession receiver. He could go right now if he were elegible. His stats are not smokin because of the QB's he has played for the last two seasons. Also, JL is one of those "freaks" that scouts look for. He has lake a 12" spread between the tip of his thumb and the tip of his pinky. Avg WR is about 9"
