The Girsan GI model 1911's are pretty nice from what I hear. It's a Turkish made gun, but fit and finish are great. LINK

The girsan is a pos and totally out of spec. Might be one of the biggest pieces of crap I have ever handled...

I bought a 1991 about a year ago for my birthday. I love this gun. It is a fine shooting weapon. The only complaint is the fit and finish, it is a bit sharp but hey it's not like I am carrying it.
