I posted about this movie a few years ago when it first aired. I am watching it again and it is just as powerful as the first time I watched it.

It is a movie everyone should watch.

I needed a good cry anyway.

Kevin Bacon is terrific in his role. I remember first seeing him in "Animal House" as the smart arse preppy ROTC kid. He played a real slime ball in "Sleepers". His portrayal of Lt. Col. Michael Strobl is remarkable.

Good movie, but I thought The Messenger with Woody Harrelson and Ben Foster on pretty much the same subject was better.

I watched this when you suggested it and it lived up to everything you said about it.

The movie is so accurate about being an Escort that the Fort Polk Casualty Assistance Office tells people to watch it as a training aid to prepare for the position. Simply a great movie.
