well, simply put.... I did the "Church" thing my whole life... grew up in the Church of Christ (same as the Robertsons fwiw) and got to be an adult without knowing what faith and grace were all about. As I made my share of mistakes and began to feel shame for those, I began to realize that nothing I could ever do on my own would ever get me into Heaven. It was at that point I realized the grace of God and the sacrifice of Jesus would be the only way I could ever receive salvation. I never was an awful person but I've engaged in my share of "sinful" activity,...and I'm certainly not perfect today... but that's the thing....Christianity isn't about being perfect.
A Church should be more of a hospital for sinners than a Country Club for Saints. Took me a long time to realize that. God wants us to love those who are hard to love.... because I we looked at ourselves through HIS eyes, WE would be hard to love as well.
I realize this is no epifany type testimony and this is certainly the condensed version, but in my experience No amount of Church going can lead you to salvation unless your heart has been broken by God and He opens your eyes to what he has in store for you.

I agree Roger. Good to know that you stick to your beliefs also.

One reason I don't watch the show is all the religious stuff gets on my nerves. But, if if they want to do it, and people want to watch, go for it. I don't care.
Too bad all of the other liberal cooks don't feel this way....don't watch it if you don't like it.

I like the way Phil puts it-
" He that believes has hope. He that doesn't believe, has no hope."
