Valve is a great company and shouldn't get knocked because of it's lack of one game, but the internet will asplode when they finally announce something on it.

without valve, PC gaming is not what it is today. Half Life/Counter Strike alone completely changed gaming for me, not to mention steam

half life, blue shift, counter strike, and return to castle wolfenstein changed my life. mainly CS and RTCW
but wolfenstein 3D started it all for me.

just look at all the successful games that started out being a Half Life mod or are spin offs from half life. blue shift, counter strike, portal, day of defeat, etc
