For the people who do this, where do yall buy from? I am going to Lafayette soon and buying a few more nets. Just curious where folks on here buy supplies from. I kinda want to stay local when buying.

The Mississippi, Amite, and Tickfaw are calling my name!! I need to drop several more.

There is a bait shop in Livinston Parish, on Hwy 16 between Walker South (447) and Port Vincent in the camp ground that sells nets...

Port Vincent Hardware has stuff also. Seems like they are always "out" of bait and nets when I go looking. The campground/boat launch on 16 before Port Vincent has nets but supplies are not regular.

We have talked before and met you in passing. Beleive it or not, I have had luck in Diversion with catfish in traps.

However, I want some of those Gars swimming around. Wife thinks Gar balls is the feast of king and queens!

Was later on. My cousin Andy was your next door neighbor you helped out, Lisa was crazy.

You need to allow me to set traps on your rental property!!

Yep, crazy. Andy wasn't around long. I don't know how the catfish did after Issac, but the bass are GONE...

Caught several Blues under docks.

My home base is now Chinquapin. Buddy has a camp there, sinking traps in that area

I noticed 2 teenagers in a 12' bateau today running lines, not sure if they caught anything but there were on the water for a long time.

I ran my neighbor's slat trap for awhile, but the one Christmas day a couple of years ago, 3 traps had 160+ catfish and I spent all Christmas day cleaning fish. That was the end of that...

There is some fish down there. Not many bass but catfish galore.

I usually set nets in mississippi and upper tickfaw. I want to see what this area is producing.

A buddy of mine is killing them right now on lines and traps. He is running the lines and traps north of Fred's. His good luck is what got me thinking of getting back into it.

Go buy the hoops and netting and make your own nets. It's cheaper and a lot more fun, unless you don't like drinking beer or chewing tobacco.

I've bought bait everywhere, and the best cheese I've purchased (= nastiest cheese with biggest chunks) was bought at the Pierre Part store. Duffy's is the name I think.
