Posted by Badman on 5/7/13 at 11:46 pm00
Is anyone else watching Steph Curry's game reminded of CJ?

Nah. More like Brandon Roy.

CJ had a lot of high point games in the NBA.

Chris Jackson was the best player that I have ever witnessed with my own eyes.

Chris Jackson, Stanely Roberts, Shaq O'Neal just imagine if they were all on the same college team at the same time. Wow National Championship Ugh o wait didn't even win SEC. Too bad Chris free throw talent didn't rub off on Shaq.
quote:That team overwhelmed Dale Brown and showed how much of a non-coach he was. Running around with a video camera asking the players how many championships they would win (in front of reporters) before they played their first game together was the first sign I saw that things were not going to go well.

saw those 3 play together at Vandy and GA. Some spectacular moments, but definitely underachieving. Always wonder what would have been if there had been a second year with all 3 together...

I think he was told he was too small to be great in the NBA, so he bulked up when he first got in the NBA, and he lost a step of quickness. He later dropped that weight and was putting up solid numbers, and then the American flag incident happened.

Yeah he really shot himself in the dick with that maneuver. No one in American sports is going to tolerate disrespect to the flag.

Shoot first small guards with poor shot selection doesnt equate to success in the NBA. Unless you are AI.

I remember CJ putting on a little weight his SO year at LSU. He could score at will but he wasn't as explosive as his FR year. Didn't he have some sort of ankle injury? I remember his FR year when he would make back door cuts to the basket and finish on an alley oop.

CJ > AI
I firmly believe that CJ just didn't want to be that great. He never seemed passionate in the NBA, took plays off, and didn't stay in the best playing shape. Also, he was clouded by those publicity stunts and his radical beliefs.

I thought he was a good kicker

He was the Nuggets leading scorer when the flag incident happened. Along with Dikembe Mutombo, Abdul-Rauf was the Nuggets best player, hands down.
They traded him to Sacramento the next year, where he was the second leading scorer to Mitch Richmond. But apparently everyone hated him, even his teammates. The next year his numbers went down, and poof - out of the league just like that.
He went from being an NBA team's top scorer to out of the league in 2 years.
