I think burnout is coming fast for Downey Jr. In salary alone, they will probably have to shell out over $150 million for a sequel to the cast.

These people have terrible agents if they didn't negotiate for back-end deals with a percentage of merchandising.

To counter, I’ve learned the Avengers cast are becoming united behind Robert Downey Jr who is seen as the “leader” – like “a big brother” in the words of one rep - for all the younger actors in the ensemble. “He’s the only guy with real power in this situation. and balls of steel, too. He’s already sent a message that he’s not going to work for a place where they treat his colleagues like shite,” one source explains. Another rep tells me, “I have four words for Marvel – ‘frick you, call Robert.’”

I wanna direct the aquaman movie, ill beat marvel lol. but marvel has competition with star trek, Godzilla, Jurassic park 4, and fan girls are a huge force. in pre-iron man days twilight and harry potter beat superhero movies at box office

With what? The last three Star Wars flicks made a ton of money but not Avengers money. DC has nothing that will come remotely close to Avengers money. DKR was around 1billion and DK was about the same but Avengers was 1.5billion.

They better lock down Downey with some options to reprise the role a few more times if they want to move the series forward. It is too soon to recast Iron Man/Tony Stark. Hulk is kind of interchangeable since Hulk is the main there, you always see Stark even with Iron Man.

The movie's gonna gross almost a billion and a half dollars. Seriously...a billion plus. He's the most marketable guy in a ridiculous cast. He's worth whatever he can get them to pay him. Gonna be OT baller money.

With GotG having CGI characters and the new characters being introduced for phase 3, Marvel has an opportunity to cast lesser known actors for less pay and possibly lock them in for long term deals. I think after Avengers 2 we won't see Tony Stark for a while.

That's all there is to it...just walk up to the studio, throw that down, and done?

Nicholson could pull that off. Chris Evans and Mark Ruffalo ain't gettin that.

so Terrence Howard wasn't completely at fault for being replaced ehh?

If they are so worried about salaries they could have just slighted altered the end of IM3 to save some cash.

Especially Mark. He is the 3rd recent hulk. Who cares about Banner. Heck just make hulk pissed the whole movie.

I mean if that's the case the Batman movies would have done better than iron man 3.

TDK trilogy is better than the IM trilogy. Hell, Iron Man 1 is the only film in the trilogy that's worth a shite. Hype alone helped 2 and 3 and it's obvious both movies blew. You're super-delusional if you can't see this. Not to mention the final box office numbers aren't in yet. Once word spreads that IM3 sucks arse, it'll die off quickly and if Man of Steel turns out to be a great film, it'll bury Iron Man 3, just as TDK buried IM1.

Warner Bros is to blame for DC's misfortunes. Until DC can break away and form their own production company like Marvel did, nothing is going to change. Man of Steel looks interesting, though, but don't expect DC to fork out movies like Marvel does until they're able to break away from the Marvel umbrella, which is almost impossible considering WB owns DC.
