Just saw this on NOLA.com. Looks like CG is buying Mahoney's. I'm trying to get the link but it is failing. Will set link as soon as it's working.

For the record, not a fan of either place.

I read this earlier and wonder what the food boards opinion is of the potential owner. I haven't been to a CG since the Saints won the SB. I do frequent Mahoney's and do think they have the best tasting poboys top to bottom in the area. Price is just ridiculous and the service is very slow.

I'm not a fan of traditional breakfast. No eggs for me.

I doubt this will have much if any effect on Mahoney's.

Hicham is a good dude. Always feed his sons friends for free when we were in town. Although I kind of got a wiseguy feeling from him.

I hope so. I'd be pissed if they did away with the carved turkey in favor of sliced deli meat.

Ya, I know. Him sitting at a table in front of Byblos with his partner speaking in Lebanese and drinking espresso reminded me of Tony and Sil in front of the pork store.

Maybe they will throw some Gyro's on the menu. I used to love going to Byblo's deli in Metairie.

Already enough of that in the area. The Vets location is getting a face lift.

I'm honestly surprised its still open. I went there ~2 years ago a few times when I was living down there and was underwhelmed on at least 3 occasions that I can remember. Awesome little patio too, plenty of potential.

Yeah given that there's few other comparable options you can get away with mediocre food in that location. God forbid someone open up a gyro food truck down the street with better food and force them to stop settling for average tasting food though.
