It amazes me that as great as Shaq was he could've been even better with a little better work ethic. He's the most dominant physical player in NBA history, but could have been top 5 of all time of any position if he would have handled the end of his career a little better.

I hear this a lot. He probably would have extended his career by staying in better shape, but i don't think anything would have put him above Russell, Wilt, and Jabbar on the All time Centers list. He's 4th on the list and would have been 4th even if he was a gym-rat. Shaq's like the guy who partied through college and still got a 3.8 GPA. He got the best of both worlds.

I know. I can't understand how the form on his 3 point shot looked so much better then his free throw form ever looked.

This. That being said. Barkley's reaction was priceless.

I've got to know your story, of all the topics to comment on, this is the one. Are a really big NBA hoops guy? Do you pride yourself on knowing more about 7'-2" Centers than anyone?

When I first married, we rented a home that had an agave plant in the front yard. I was unfamiliar with the plant and was greatly surprised that when it finally flowered it shot up something that resembled a large green penis about 30 feet from its center. I was later informed that this was called the century plant and would only do this a few times in its lifespan.

IncarnateWordUniv, you are like the large green penis of TR, glad you could finally pop up.

That's what people forget about shaq. How athletic he was, amazing. Could you name another 7'-2" guy who could move like that?

You may as well add Cheese Grits because Shaq would eat them all for breakfast.

One of my favorite Shaq moments was during a press conference with Jeff Van Gundy when he was the coach of the Knicks. He was asked how they were going to prepare for playing against Shaq.

His response was "how the hell do you think we are going to prepare for him? we don't have anyone within 6 inches of the guy. we're just going to try to slow him down as best we can. we sure as hell ain't stopping him." ..... or something like that
