Smith lived around the corner from me. My little brother and his son Joey were friends.

I went to Broadmoor with Joey. Good guy. He's a BRPD supervisor last I saw.

I'm friends with someone who pitched on the 1975 SEC championship team. He has nothing but fond memories of Jim Smith if that means anything.

I came down with a bad case of bucolic when I was kid. Doctor gave me a strong prescription to clear it up.

I attended several games during that era as an LSU student. Less than 100 in the stands is accurate.

I remember lying on my side on the bench seating watching the game as though I was watching TV at home on the sofa.

I remember a very good hitting first baseman, anybody remember who that was? Went on to be a doctor I think.

Dr. John Thomas played at LSU and I think later mentored Skip Bertman through his hip surgeries. Good guy.

I played in '71 &'72. We had some good wins against some top teams, but nobody came to the games. We finished '72 21&21. Not earth shattering stats, but some good players, Craig Burns, Gerald Keigley and Mike Miley from football were on that team. Please don't hate on Coach Smith he was a great guy to all of us. His main job was the equipment manager but did give hours of his time to baseball. Sadly missed by all of his former players.
