Does anyone else get annoyed when you are having a decent quote fest with a few friends, (or like even on here) and someone chimes in with the easiest, most obvious tag line from that particular movie?

Some obvious examples are like in Ace Ventura when someone will be like "Allllll righty then." lulz or Forest Gump where there are a shite ton of hilarious/ kind of under the radar quotes and someone goes "oh lol life is like a box of chocolates."

Does this bother the frick out of you as bad as it does me (redundant question)? And what are some more of these very basic, overused and too easy tag lines that can completely ruin a quote war?

ETA: and in before "no, I'm too cool to let little shite like this bother me.".....because this thread is for the people that it does bother. If it doesn't annoy you, carry on.

I've discussed movies and the better quotes in movies but I've never gotten in a "quote war" and gotten pissed when someone less knowledgeable about movies tries to jump in with an easy one. Relax Ebert.

Yes, I know what you are saying. I'm not sure if this is from a film or not, but everytime I'm at a Chinese buffet with either friends or co-workers, someone at the table always says in a Chinese voice as if they are the restaurant owner, "no more food for you, you eat too much, get out."

OK, maybe I should clarify again. This is for the people that do get annoyed by it. And what are some of these quotes?

This thread is obviously not for you I guess.

Exactly. These situations apply as well.

Another one is if you happen to be playing volleyball or water volleyball, someone always has to say "It's just a game Focker."

Maybe the other guy thinks the same thing, they're like why does he always say the same fricking obscure movie quote that no one really knows where it's from?

Think about it.

YES! But Terminator in general is pretty much full of those. It's not a real good quote movie IMO. Arnold's one liners in Commando and Predator are money though.

There are much better lines from Tarantino films then the ones people like to spit out all the time.

I they start off with the easy ones, just end it there because they really dont know the movie well enough to do it

But if you get us started me and a friend of mine can spit off family guy quotes for days

No. I don't imagine the guy that's always saying shite like "Alllrighty then!" or "If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball." Deserves an opinion.

And maybe said guy should stay out of the fricking conversation if he doesn't understand the quotes that are being used in the conversation

This isn't really a thread for you to get defensive and make excuses for these individuals. This is more of a "what are some of these quotes that fall in this category?" kind of thread. You know, like I've stressed 4 fricking times now.

This is what I'm talking about. These are the situations and quotes I'm looking for. Not, "Well, you suck because you like quoting movies so much."

Whats funny to me is that you hate these people for using the obvious quotes from movies, but you want everyone in this thread to spit out the obvious quotes from movies
