Probably a safe guess. I'd say the best they do is 10-2. If they split UF,UGA,BAMA and aTm I will be happy.
I'm hoping they go 9-3 thus keeping my expectations realistic.

2014 could be the year of the Tiger with the offense and defense clicking on all cylinders.

don't we get a new starting QB in 2014?

I think we have a delusional fan base...it isn't like these teams are head n shoulders above LSU. Sure we lost a lot on D, but it isn't like we had a bare cupboard. If the O can move the ball, we will hold our own--we just can't get into the back-to-back-to-back 3 and out we have seen too often.

nice job coming up with an excuse for every single team that this poster mentioned.

Also, I find it hilarious that people on this board are acting like we'll beat TCU by 3 TDS.

I don't think I've ever been accused of using excuses for saying why we might WIN a football game. Only on the rant.

My only point was I don't get how anyone can just say with 100% certainty we'll lose 4 games next year. We return a ton on offense, and we have 4 & 5 star guys chomping at the bit on defense. Secondary will be ridiculous, LBs will be a strength for the first time in a few years and Freak, Ego, Allen, Rasco are all NFL talent. We'll be fine.

Good. LSU is better when people write them off.

This. I have a feeling we are going to sneak up on everybody on a wide open field.

LSU always overachieves in odd number years. LSU will be at least a 10-win team going into the bowl season.

I would be happy with 9-3 as long as two of those are over Bama, and the Aggies>

Yet 10-2 wasn't good enough for Cotton last year.

Its gonna be tough.

If Les wins 10 regular season games next year, build the statue. I could see a 10-2 LSU team playing for the SEC CC making some NC noise. No other team in the country will have a resume as legit as LSU with that schedule and 10 wins.

It's gonna take a hell of a season to pull it off. With the addition of Cam Cameron, I'm hoping for a Happy Gilmore moment. "LSU learned how to run up the score. Uh oh."

I prefer this assessment instead of others that had us winning another BCS championship - similar to what 'Bama has accomplished lately.

I have NO doubt that if the defense can mature "quickly" b/f SEC action and stay healthy early + Mett brings his A game for 4 complete quarters we can be right back in the title game.

Unfortunately/Fortunately for LSU the schedule will be probably the toughest in the country on paper starting out. This is the way we got to the top! Let's do it again!!!!!!!

I have higher expectations for this team this year. QB with a season under his belt. Much improved OL. Very talented RBs. Depth at receiver position with Beckham and Landry returning. Might be a little young on defensive side, but I believe those young LBs will play very well this year. I also don't see our DL taking any steps backward. We should be very solid upfront. Secondary is young, but the young guys played well last year and will be improved. Bottom line, we may give up some up yardage and points at times but our offensive scoring should be greatly improved.

Losing some strength on D and special teams could take away their usual edge in some of the bigger games.

However, I feel like the Tiger offense finally has a chance to be the difference maker this team.

If Cam can make this offense become very consistent it will take the pressure off of a rebuilt D.
