If you mean financially, then yes. We can afford to give him a max contract.

We have the money and he's a free agent, so yes?

Anything is possible.

But that don't make it probable.

He's new... Since 2010.

But sure it's possible... Anything is, just ask Garnett.

I honestly think that the Pelicans make more sense than just about any team other than the rockets for him if his goal is winning asap.

Its really not that crazy of a comment. We already know that he likes Monty as a coach. You could easily argue that the Pelicans have a better owner and GM. He'll get to play with Anthony Davis, Ryan Anderson, and a (hopefully) healthy Eric Gordon. Not to mention, a high draft pick and some extra money for another solid FA could be very enticing to him.

Not to mention, he has to be pretty frustrated that he got no help from his teammates in the playoffs, which is the reason he left here in the first place.

So either he lied and left because he wanted to play in a big market instead of winning, or he'll leave L.A. and find a better winning option somewhere else. And the only teams that really have a shot at getting him are the Pelicans, Rockets, or Hawks.

when cp3 chooses his destination, i think the team with the best 4/5 combo+bench rotation is the winner. i call hawks vs pels.

I really don't think he'll come back here, but to say that he that its not a possibility is crazy

I personally think he'll probably stay in LA. He'll get Vinny Del Negro fired and basically get to pick the new coach. If not though, there's a good chance he'll leave, but since Houston and Atlanta are already playoff teams, they'll be the frontrunners

We have the money, the assets, the familiar coach/gm, the great ownership, the practice facility. We have just as good of a chance as anyone else. If he's smart, hell sign with us or Houston. But we can't tell him how to live his life. He'll sign wherever he feels is best for his career.

Well, L.A. is right to laugh as it stands now because there are other available teams who either are or will be a contender next season. But with the relatively small amount of guaranteed contract obligation the Pelicans have, they could clear the deck to make multiple significant signings and/or trades. I'm not predicting what they'll do, but I'm suggesting anything theoretically can happen if Benson/Loomis/Lauscha give the green light to do anything necessary to contend next year.

Why do you need to make this personal? You need to checks the board FAQ's for posting guidelines.

The Clippers made the playoffs, bro. The Hornets didn't even smell the playoffs. So which team is the bigger flopper?

The Hornets are the NBA backwater. Chris Paul ain't going back. That's like escaping Alcatraz, then turning around and swimming back.

I'm not saying he's defintely going to resign with the Clippers. But he ain't signing with the Hornets/Pelicans. And I'd be willing to bet you on that. Care to make a wager? The wager is Chris Paul signs with New orleans. I say no. You say yes. Loser stays of this board for a month. You game?
