re: Least Talented Team to Win NBA Finals

Lol this idiot can't be serious. When you match up with player and he shoots 15% better than you, had more blocks, rebounds, and assists than you, you by no means outplayed him. Shaq was clearly the best player in that series. Go back and watch the games. It's clear on the court and in the box score. That's the facts fool.

re: Least Talented Team to Win NBA Finals

1975 Golden State Warriors The starting lineup was Rick Barry, Jeff Mullins, Clifford Ray, Jamaal Wilkes and Butch Beard. Barry was a legitimate superstar, and Wilkes, a rookie playing power forward at 6'6" and 190lbs, would go on to be a quality NBA player. But Mullins was an average pro at best at the end of his career, and I challenge anyone to find anything distinguishable about Ray or Beard as NBA payers.

Had one of the greatest centers of all time, plus a lot of young and talented players who went on to do big things (Smith, Cassell, Horry).

Also, Otis Thorpe was a all-star. Not sure if you remember that.

Shaq outplayed Hakeem in those second Finals.

No. Hakeem had a higher ppg in the finals, outscored Shaq in every game, and also scored 30+ in every game.

Idk if you actually remember this series but you are exactly wrong about this. Hakeem OWNED Shaq.

The guy posts like a 12 year old, and I'm supposed to believe he watched/remembers this series

It was blatant to everybody who watched who the better center was: the Dream.

Shaq..........................Olajuwon
Game 1: 26/16/9................31/6/7
Game 2: 33/12/7................34/11/2
Game 3: 28/10/6................31/14/7
Game 4: 25/12/3 ...............35/15/6

Hakeem had the better series (and he should have), but he certainly didn't "own" shaq

re: Least Talented Team to Win NBA Finals

The 1970s were a dark time for the NBA. Most of the elite talent was in the ABA (unfortunately, the ABA had no depth whatsoever). Even the best 1970s NBA teams would've gotten run off the court by a top tier 1980s squad. And I'm not talking the Celtics and Lakers, I mean the Mavs, Nuggets, or Hawks. 1970s NBA basketball was pretty terrible, played by goonish half court squads almost entirely below the rim.

I think you could pick a 1970s champion squad out of a hat and find the least talented team to win a title, or at least a good contender. Since then, I'd argue the 2011 Mavs. That team was thoroughly mediocre, but they got hot at the right time, played great D, and Carlisle ate Spolestra's lunch from a coaching standpoint. If anytime a coach won a title, it was 2011.

What did Smith do besides playing with Hakeem in his career? The other night Chuck said if it weren't for Hakeem, Kenny would have been out of the league.
