Think about it. Even in Avoyelles, where the men force their women to mow, you never see it.

I've enjoyed Mother's every time I've been, but then again, I'm a tourist.

I must be doing something wrong. I can't get my wife to mow the grass when we are at our place in Avoyelles Parish.

Melting Pot - I say this is hand's down the worst experience (been 3x) from how expensive it is to how little meat you actually get to the preparation and excruciating constipation like nature of boiling your little meat balls one at a time extending an already painful meal into 2 hours or more.

never bent

5 Guys - tiny meat, god help you if you like to actually taste the meat and want it anything but WELL DONE..fries for being 'fresh' have zero flavor and if it wasn't for the fact they piled your burger with all kinds of shite you would be pissed it costs more than $12 for a burger, fries & drink.

way over priced for a mediocre hamburger. Fries are decent.

Johnny's Pizza - delicious NELA mecca sustenance and anyone who disagrees is simply new to it (or ordered the buffet) and hasn't developed a palate nuanced enough for the awesomeness that is johnnys

Love Johnnys

Canes - isn't the chicken tasty? does everyone call it a shithole simply based on the constantly increasing prices and shrinking portions?

Meh

Podnuhs - you SHUT YOUR WHORE MOUTH if you've only gone to the shithole in Baton Rouge. Podnuhs in Monroe is legit

Podnuhs is good for a quick BBQ fix at lunch. Portions are shrinking and it is overpriced tho

Shipleys - only the one run by the hot blonde chicks in Monroe. ..but why they always gotta look so mad?

never bent... Southern maid FTMFW

Popeyes - YOU CANT HATE THE FOOD. You can hate the service and attitude but don't hate on the spice.

EXACTLY RIGHT ON POPEARS.. LOVE THEM BISCUITS
..what you got?

Superior grill. Over priced food and you smell like a mexican for a solid 2 days after eating there

MeridianDog's Burgers and Chips

It is a private dining club open by invitation only, and lately....

Actually what is shown in the photo spreads is not a kitchen at all, It is a studio in the Men's restroom at the Toomsuba Texaco. If you examine the photos carefully sometimes you can see a urinal reflected in the window.

I can't believe no one ever pointed that out. Too busy griping about the china I guess. Someone on here once accused me of using paper plates and that was just dumb.

And that's all I have to say about that.

Pretty much any restaurant that is popular in New Orleans, if it is somewhat popular to tourist you get this from locals "oh no that place sucks, you'd need to go to this other place on the other side of town"

Without fail

Gross oversimplification/somewhat troll-y comment, but also definitely true to an extent.

This is what makes the popeye's location in Walker so great.. They hired a Chick Fil A staff.

Chilis

Everyone looks down on it but the shite isnt bad. They put out a quality hamburger and have many items that are satisfying.

Mother's definitely gets more love and more hate than would be warranted based on its food quality alone. Seems like everyone thinks it's either a "must go" or a "must avoid."

Cochon. Most people love it, but I'm always surprised at the level of anti-Cochon sentiment that pops up. Very few neutral. I think people from out west bristle a little bit at someone claiming to be a "true" Cajun restaurant in New Orleans, which is understandable to an extent.

One place that is not controversial but IMO should be is Port of Call.

Meridian has two absolutely wonderful Popeye's Stores. No complaints about them at all.

The one in Vicksburg was OK the last time I stopped there.

I wish they opened early for Chicken Biscuits, so I guess I do have a complaint.
