I understand you, but you don´t understand what you´re talking about.
Logically, you do. It´s all about the W.
Football has nothing to do with sports in the US in terms of W´s and L´s.
It´s about sportmanship, to some degree, a philosophy, and the execution of said philosophy.
´Tis a different animal. Altogether.
Not getting uppity. Simply, you either get it, or you don´t.
I could go on about how some sides have won a CL and yet, aren´t recognized for such, only in the record books, but I´ve got a feeling, you won´t comprehend.
After a drawn out diatribe possibly, but that´s for another post.
I see what you're saying and I think I sort of misunderstood you and I also wasn't completely clear. The sentence I bolded sort of brings me back to what I was saying... I am all for playing your *style, but if said style isn't working in a game, or tie in the case of the CL, like what happened to Barcelona vs Bayern, do you think they should just continue playing that style despite getting destroyed? It seems to me that Barcelona didn't really adjust while Real tried to adjust and they almost won, and I didn't agree that Barca played "exemplary" like Cappa said, and that was what I was saying.. basically if your style isn't working then you should adjust and try to win however you can.
*Real Madrid has been playing a counter-attacking style since Jose has been in charge right? I can see why that would be frustrating and I was talking more about on a game-to-game basis in what I was saying if that makes sense.
Not sure if this entirely makes sense and I didn't watch all of the semifinal games in their entirety because of school so I could be a little off in my assumptions. Also I don't really wanna argue or anything because I don't watch Real much so I am not as knowledgable as you anyways
PS: not sure how much sense this post makes, it may just seem like rambling but it is late and I'm watching the Playoffs too

Horrible example with Tebow.
How? I gave an example of a team winning ugly for a few games, then deciding to go a different direction. Had nothing to do with a title.

I already said why. Tebow is not a world class quarterback. Denver had no other choice but to play that gimmicky style in order to maximize their win potential.
The soccer teams we are using are all top clubs with top players. There are no real "Tebows" on those teams.

Good stuff, I get your point.
No, I wouldn´t say RM adjusted, simply they were horrid on the first leg, and not so, on the second.
Barça met a determined and focused BM, which was also very well prepared. Barça was not at full force, yet, I´m not sure whether or not that would have mattered (Messi, Busquets). Probably, their participation at full potential would have only reduced the goal differential.
Your bolded part of the post, corresponds to football or soccer being different than American sports.
Style is important. We´re talking about tactics, a game plan, and execution. There are many ways to skin a cat, and ways are invented every few years. Nobody, NOBODY in Europe wants to see an elephant dig his head in the sand for 180+ minutes, with his arse covering the goal, and when he sees fit, run the ball the other way, throwing it off to some previously slumbering tinkerbells, do they?
Makes no sense for the viewer, let alone the lover of the sport, does it?

180 minutes? I could look at this all day

No one is disagreeing with this. All I am saying is that I will take my team winning ugly over losing with excellent tactical execution.
Everyone always wants to see the most beautiful game possible. Style and tactics are important in every sport.

Kansas City, MO is along way from Marietta, GA, but I´m sure there´s a Chelsea fan who would be more than happy to enjoy said 180 minute pachyderm happiness ad infinitum with you.
If not obvious for you, should you need contact details, kindly please let me know.

Last year was an anomaly, was it not?
Well, we did have that lovely all Italian final between Juve and AC Milan some years ago as well, but other than that, an anomaly, correct?

There is nothing profound about it. I feel like you do a poor job expressing your ideas because half of the people do not totally understand what you are saying.
Your posting history is loaded with incoherent thoughts, non-sequitir, and a penchant to start wholly unnecessary threads. I just think that you are pretty weird.

You feel because half the people do not totally understand. Where do you get these figures? Good stuff. Grow a pair. Opine for yourself.
Back to the topic at hand.
Your assumptions are erroneous, sweeping and nontransposable.
Kindly please tell me if you do not totally understand.

Think, man, think. Reflect man, reflect. Your Mommy´s not going to be around to spell everything out for you.
As Homey will tell you, many Europeans laugh at Americans, especially with respect to the tunnel visión, rigid mind concept they have of Americans, and I´ve advocated that we all are the same, all over this lovely world.
You, my man, like six or eight others on this board, stoke the fire of the stereotype.

I understand, or at least think I do, about 80% of what you.
Seems like you try to be way to extravagant with your wording, kind of diva-ish.

Outside of a handful games that conveniently correspond with El Clasico, not really.
They are certainly more effective on the counter, but I think that that's more down to personnel than anything. Stylistically, you could probably even argue that they lack a distinct identity beyond "give the ball to Oezil and Ronaldo and hope that some other attacking player gets their head out out of their arse long enough to play well." They haven't been as good as they could have been this year, i.e., they've regressed, and Mourinho is paying for not shutting the frick up over the previous three years.
Madridistas compose what is arguably the most demanding fan base in the world. They expect to see a certain product on the field, and at times, they could be justified in wanting more over Mourinho's reign, e.g., I don't think that anyone who wants to watch "attractive" soccer truly wants to watch Pepe frick shite up in midfield (though, it's really, really entertaining).
But, all of this is not to say that Mourinho is beyond criticism. As much as I like Mourinho, I don't think that the Bernabeu was ever large enough for both Mourinho and Real Madrid at the same time.

Europeans laughing at Americans about anything other than how fat some of us are? That's a good one.
