Im a regular athletic joe... with all those pads and helmet hitting rules, it wouldn't be that bad.... if your a bish who runs like a fairy and has never taken a hit, you would be broken on 1 carry though

You'd be fine then, unless you're 130 pounds.

Look, I'm not trying to be a badass and be like "yeah I'd probably stiff arm everyone on the way to the endzone!" or anything like that. It would hurt, and you'd likely be sore the next day.

But ONE carry? Concussions, hospitalization? Geez people wtf. If you're a grown frickin man, wearing full pads mind you, taking ONE hit wouldn't hospitalize you unless it was dirty and to the head, assuming you aren't a fatass lazy couch potato. If you're moderately active and in shape, I don't see why one hit would do any real damage other than being sore.

And yes, I realize these are professional football players. They're huge, they're big, they're fast, and they tackle people for a living. I'm not saying it wouldn't hurt. It'd likely knock the wind out and you'd definitely feel it the next day. But c'mon man...it's ONE single tackle. You'd be fine.

I went to both extremes. There are pads for slight, emaciated 130 pound men, and there are pads for big frickin fatasses.

If you are either of those, yes I'm sure one tackle would seriously hurt you. If you are average sized and have average athletic ability, you'd be fine.

Most likely you'll get caught up in the mass of bodies at the line of scrimmage and be brought down not all too hard just like the 90% of plays that happen on any given football running play.

Run to the edges and you might get into some trouble quickly

This isn't a running back but the same concept

Johnny Knoxville vs Jared Allen Might be NSFW language I had to watch it on mute.

That's not even remotely close to the same concept. In the link the receiver is running full speed and jumps mid air, while the NFL all pro runs head on with a full head of steam and nails him.

In the OP's scenario, it's a running play with blockers where both sides only have 5-10 yards to really get going. And again, there's blockers. It wouldn't be near as gruesome as some of yall have made it out to be.

I agree, I worded it poorly. What I meant for that video to show is an average man taking a hit.

I agree that a average man could complete multiple downs without being seriously injured. I'm sure he would be sore for a few days but that is expected.
