The fact that you are bringing Rose into this argument to try to implicate it as even remotely similar is asinine. Come on now.

No its not. Its irrelevant who was better out of DRose and MJ. The point is Last yr, bulls, who had the best record in the east, didnt have their best player in the playoffs.

Whats asinine is your OP. Rockets beat everybody who was in front of them 2 years in a row. Its their fault MJ was in the minors?

are you really going to doubt Jordan?

Yeah...and in his prime.

Seriously, I don't care if people DO think that Rockets team was a better overall team.

Jordan wins once he matured and hit his prime, that's what he does, that's why he's Jordan, that's why he's the GOAT.

Picking against Jordan against ANY team - is a 1 out of 10 proposition.

Alot of people don't realize that besides the detroit pistons title in 2004 which consisted of one of the best collective starting 5's ive ever seen in terms of balance and solidarity across the board......the 1993-94 Houston Rockets were the LAST TEAM to win a title with Only 1 star/hall of famer on the roster

the bulls always had jordan,pippen,rodman
the spurs had duncan and robinson
the lakers had shaq,kobe
the heat won with shaq,payton,dwade
celtic won with kg,pierce,allen
dallas won with dirk,kidd
heat won with bron,wade,bosh

No titles are tarnished. Not the Rockets fault Jordan quit. This topic has been beaten to death. To assume the Bulls just win 8 straight is silly. Seeing as the death of his father affected him so much he retired and played minor league baseball, i see no reason to just assume they win a 4th in 94. The 3rd title was also the hardest of the first 3 to win, he had the gambling stories and started to get bad press for the first time ever. I think people grossly underestimate the motivation factor. After quitting, coming back and losing to Orlando, Jordan had to win 3 more to keep his legacy as the GOAT.

At the end of the day, no other team stepped up, so

The numbers were definitely there, no doubt.

But you can't tell me it's easy for a team to play a certain way between October - March 17th and then completely alter their style when Jordan just decides to show back up in late March.

he wasn't but regardless....still hakeem was on a team of mediocre players and won it.....even that Mavs team had

kidd
marion
caron butler
tyson chandler
jason terry

those are all very very good NBA players....hakeem had carl herrera, scott brooks, kenny smith, vernon maxwell, matt bullard all playing significant minutes on his title run......how many of those guys did anything in the next few years? Only cassell, elie and horry went on and did anything remotely worth mentioning post 1994

They did for 3 of the 6, not all

They did for 2. the other 2 came with Parker and Ginobli, and they were actually part of the 2nd championship as well with Robinson and Duncan.

the lakers had shaq,kobe

they did for 3. the other 2 came with Malone and Payton, i mean Pau, Odom and Bynum

I guess if you want to call Parker, Ginobli and Pau HOF's then i guess you're right.

I agree. Hakeem is one of my favorite players of all-time. What he did with that Rockets team was sensational. But I think the run Dirk had in the playoffs his title year (regardless of supporting cast help) was just as impressive.

no robinson but those spurs had parker, ginobli and more

lakers had pau who at the time may have been the best 4 in the game with his outside jumper and defense combo. Andrew bynum was no slouch

both those teams were not so reliant on 1 guy....hakeem was the 1993-94 rockets, he goes down rockets win 15 games, those teams you mentioned would still be playoff teams or at worst borderline playoff teams minus kobe or duncan

hakeem goes down think spurs the year before duncan

So if Jordan never retires, the Bulls lose in the Finals back to back years to the Rockets? Sorry, but I'm not buying it.

I missed this from the front page, but it's a great question.
