I see cat squirrels everywhere, but have never seen a red fox squirrel on campus. Is it the lack of pine trees?

Definitely not that. I do not know the answer though. Grays are more aggressive and tend to push foxes out where they both live. We have areas with no cats due to young trees with no holes.

I saw one in the quad jump out of a trash can with a popeye's thigh in its mouth.

Well, 20 years ago that place was covered with fox squirrels. I guess once grays move in, fox flight takes effect, and they all went to Prairieville or Watson.

From my observations all of the fox squirrels are at webb golf course.

Maybe cat squirrels prefer eating garbage more than fox squirrels do?
