I was actually surprised how funny it was. One of my favorite parts is the start of the film with the "Bad Guy" support group.
What are the boards thoughts on it?

I thought it was OK.
They spent too much time in the racing game. There are so many places they could visit in the arcade and they only went to 3 or 4 games total while spending 75% of the time in one of them.
So much potential.

I thought it was pretty amazing. Hit on many levels, especially nostalgia (and it NAILED that).
Thought it was funny, well-written, well acted (love John C. Reilly), and a gorgeous movie visually.

I loved it and thought it was better than most Pixar films.

Complete agree - as a product of the Nintendo/SNES/Playstation Era, I thought it blended the right amount of nostalgia with interesting characters that I wanted to succeed.
The movie still surprised me at the end as well (should've seen that shite coming )

My favorite animated movie in a long time.

This is one of those films that reeks of a sequel. I'm glad they kept it concentrated, and hopefully in the sequel (which is already being written I believe) they'll just stick to another two or three genres, like Zelda, fighting games, and maybe online strategy.

considering how nerdy i am about video games, i absolutely loved it
but yea, bad guy support group was one of the best scenes

Took my daughter to see it a couple months ago. She and I loved it. I'm not all into video games now, since I'm a grown man and don't fap at every XBox or PS3 release, but it did have the nostalgia thing down perfectly.

i guess i shouldve said "considering how nerdy i USED TO BE about video games"
wife, kids, and job really bite into your mario kart 64 time

With all the love being heaped upon this movie I'm expecting Carson to do his thang
As for me, I loved it. Took the Mrs and she loved it too, even though she is not a big gaming nerd as I am. When that exclamation mark popped out I almost lost it. While she is saying "Where's that from?"

I loved it. We took our son to see it twice. I actually enjoyed it more than he did. I guess the 80s aracade references are hard for a 5 year old to pick up on.

My favorite detail of the movie is how the older video game characters moved in a stilted-jerky manner, like they do in the 80's arcade games.

I loved all the throwback character cameos and the graffiti. If you pause the movie, they show you some of the cooler things you wouldn't notice, like "Aeris Lives!" graffiti.

I also loved the attention to how the characters in Fix it Felix moved very "8 bit" like. I'm a grown man and not ashamed to display this movie in my blurry collection.

Awesome movie. I thought all four of the main characters were great. I don't really play video games but multiple times throughout the movie I was thinking to myself "dang I loved that game."
I took Fix it Felix, Jr. as the original Donkey Kong and Sugar Rush as a Mario Kart replica. Loved all the other games subtly included.
And if a movie gets you to love a Sarah Silverman character, it's done it's job.

Can't believe it lost the Oscar to Brave. At least its lead character was likeable.
