I love both but I've come to appreciate Harlem Nights more and more as I got older.

ETA:

Jesus Christ...

Come on Harlem Night fans. I'm looking like a dickhead here..

I've never seen Harlem Nights, but I can't imagine it's better than (or near as good as) Coming to America.

I love Harlem Nights, but mainly because of Red Fox and Della Reese. Those two were great in that movie. But my fav is Coming to America. So many one liners in that movie.

Coming to America

My goal is to become a prince, so that I can have my own personal penis washers.

The barber shop scenes are still funny as hell.

The question is not fair. Harlem Nights is a good movie, but it can't be compared to Coming to America, which is one of the funniest movies of all time.

Harlem Nights is not necissarily a great comedy, but it is a good movie.

Years ago....Harlem Nights.

Now...probably Coming to America.

Coming to America is funnier...

Although Harlem is the more interesting story imo

Coming to America.

A better comparison would be Coming to America or Life.

I'll also add that if Richard Pryor was younger/healthier the movie would have been even better.

Sure Red Foxx at an an old age was still hilarious, but we didnt get classic Pryor in that movie. However, did a great job with the acting.....just I feel that if the movie was made in the early 80's he probably would have added more creative comedy to his part.
