I didn't particularly like him, but I did not find whiny or annoying. I thought he was opposite of that at times because he was motivated by revenge and was out to kill Snow for half the game.

After he reconciled, he was pretty much non-existent for the rest of the game.

Ha I know exactly what part you are talking about, I think it is possible to have two ribbons by that point. One is actually through a secret wall in the ice cave. You actually can get that limit break skill from the enemy if you wanted it. I can't think of that things name but it is in most if not all FF's.

Yup, I had the 2 ribbons but I had taken them off because I was about to fight the 2 headed fire/ice dragon and had prepared accordingly

FFVII. It's dated, but it's been amazing so far.
I have VIII downloaded, and will play it after.
I played FFX first and it's one of my favorite games ever, pretty hard to top. Will be buying the HD version later this year.
Will play XIII and XIII-2 after VIII

Takes some getting used to because of hte PS1 graphics but I have had a blast. I played for like 4 hours straight yesterday
