Anyone ever had a torn ucl (tommy John injury)?

What does it feel like? The inside of my elbow is killing me. How do you make it better without surgery?

I'm not interested in it to come back throwing harder than ever. It's not for baseball purposes. I coach baseball and like to play softball, but it's a complete pain in the arse every time I throw and recently started hurting for a good while after.

Also hurts when I lift weights.

FWIW, you aren't properly stretching your arm before practice. You have to treat it like Tendinitis and work with it before you even warm up (which you don't do).

I have.

If it's sprained (very possible), then do nothing for a while and it'll heal. If it's torn, you can't make it better. It's done unless you have surgery. The pain will go down and it will stop hurting when you throw, but you'll never be able to play anything competitively without surgery.

My elbow felt like all the power in it was gone. As if there was just no force I could use.

Hmm. Well it's been like this for probably 2 or so years, just not nearly as bad. I could usually play a baseball game and feel very little pain. Now it's every time I throw. I still throw with the same pretty much the same velocity...maybe a little less because of the pain.

You likely haven't torn it. Probably tendinitis. Rest, ice, stretch wrist flexors and extensors. Warm up before any activity using arm, especially throwing, no matter how much you are doing.

That's similar to my case. It sounds like you are on the verge of tearing it. I don't think you've quite torn it yet because you honestly wouldn't be able to throw without losing at least half your velocity. If it was completely torn, throwing the same velocity and throwing for any length of time would make the pain unbearable.

Sounds more like tennis elbow, although that's usually on the outside of your elbow. Regardless, nothing can heal tendinitis except rest. I've had ortho pods tell me that the surgery for tendinitis likely works because you can't use your elbow for 6 weeks afterwords.

If you had a torn ulnar collateral ligament, you'd probably know it. It would've hurt when it tore, and your arm wouldn't function normally.

Go to a ag supply store like chastant brothers and get some horse balm. It is icy hot for horses. Put it on your elbow daily and ice it when you can

If you aren't a pitcher, it will pretty much heal enough on its own. Assuming you rest for a number of months.
