Leachy looking things in my backyard?

In the last couple weeks I've seen 3 little leach looking things in my yard... and I haven't looked for hard.

They're about 1/8-1/4" long, very dark brown and look like a baby snail, or leach?

Any ideas what it is, and how to get rid of them?

One was on a friend's leg after we boiled crawfish, another was on my daughter's clothes, and I saw one on a turtle today that my dog had corned.

Leachy bastids.

Slugs.

Wet the ground around where you saw one. Go outside at night. If you have a big infestation you'll see a lot.

There's a bait in a box that wal mart sells. It will kill them.

Only thing is that they get stuck to the concrete.

Make a slug trap by filling the plastic lid of a peanut can with cheap beer. Slugs are notorious partiers and will climb in when they smell the beer. Not being able to control their consuption of free beer, they will soon get drunk and drown.

Problem solved.

I'm trying to decide of this guy has some sort of leeches in his back yard, or if I've indeed stumbled upon the only person in the world who's never seen a slug.

sounds like leeches. slugs do not voluntarily climb on people or turtles.

This kind of thing comes up here from time to time. Chicken beaked duck is still my favorite.

Have to tie them down.

They will climb out of the bed of a truck.
