Pigtails. I wear them all the time cause they are easy. I can sleep in them on camping trips and wake up and rebraid it. Also keeps my hair from getting all knotted up when I go swimming.

So it's purely for function

I'd want them to move the fog out of the way so I could see the other end of the zip line, just so I'd know it was there.

Still no definitive cause of fevers?

They had a snafu with phlebotomy yesterday and had put in an order for a whole battery of tests yesterday morning. They didn't get to order til almost 4 yesterday afternoon so they should have a better idea today. My temp dropped from 103 at 12 to 100.3.

Our lab does shite like that all the time. Then they want to bitch at us about length of stay, when it's their damn fault.

Rapid changes in the temp by several degrees up or down can cause the convulsions.

Did they do anything near your thyroid or parathyroid glands ( lower front of your neck below the Adams apple? Or was all surgery confined in the mouth?

They did a right side neck dissection with the first tongue surgery in 4/22. When they went back in on Tuesday, they only worked on the tongue. They are thinking there is infection around my neck incision site.

I'm sure they are on the right track. It sucks but even with perfect technique, advanced technology, and careful skilled planning and execution, surgeries still have complications sometimes and infections are in that list. Lots if places to harbor an infection, urine, lungs, surgery site, venous catheters, sinuses from ng or trumpet, colon from C diff, etc.

If they can't find an infection source though make sure to ask if the fever could be caused by hormonal changes and or the cancer. It is a bit more complicated than that but it should spur them to think about non infectious causes if fever if they have not.

In think they have it pegged just waiting on those blood reports to be sure. The said to expect to be here through the weekend. Possibly having to upen my neck suture and clean it out even though it is healed an healthy from all outside accounts.

The one good silver lining in all this is I have an amazing wife that rarely leaves my side and wen she does, it's not for long. I couldn't do it without her

No convulsions last night. I did tach out to 103 but got her back to 98.6 by about 2:00. Still holding steady.

Hopefully with the new bloodwork results I will get on stronger antibiotics today and knock this shite out.
