Aha shake heartbreak was their best album. Because of the times wasn't bad. It couldn't live up to the first to but it was still solid. I lost all interest after the 4th album

I agree with you that A-Ha Shake was their best album. A-Ha Shake may have been their last album that had a unifying sound -- i.e. all the tracks seem like they belong together as a single work -- but imho it didn't mark the end of them making great songs.

I think Ragoo is their best song. And say what you will about Use Somebody, but I think that's a damn good song as well. Same with I Want You. Same with Back Down South. Etc. I think they're still putting otu excellent tracks.

See this is where we differ I think.

I don't think excellent tracks define a great band though. A great band, at least in my opinion, is defined by great albums. That is the true measure of greatness to me and they haven't put out a great album since aha shake.

Like I said earlier, they've shown glimpses but haven't been able to reel it in and bottle it.

Yes, that is where we disagree. I think the objective of a band/artist is to make great tracks. I see an album as just a compilation of tracks.

That's where you bring the hip-hop/rap mindset into the rock genre. There's nothing wrong with that viewpoint but it differs from mine so of course we're going to have some disagreements.

I look at an album like I do a movie. A great scene or two in a bunch of shite movies doesn't make a great director. He needs to bring it all together and produce great WHOLE works

I will always love this band, all their albums. They are pretty different but still great.

I've seen em 3 times, loved every show.

What day are they playing?

Probably one of the only big bands I'm going to skip at hangout.

Actually think I'm going to head back to the house when they start and cook a big gravy for everyone for when they get back.

KOL started sucking when you could easily discern the words Caleb was signing. His voice changed from the first two albums to what is it now, for obvious reasons, to sell more records.

sucks but that's life, I don't fault them for it.

If by awesome you mean fricking annoying, then I agree 100%.

To each his own bro, but I don't get the passion you KoL fans have towards this band.
