The Independance Bowl win over Michigan State was definately a building block.

2001 SEC Championship vs. then #2 ranked Tennessee.

the night we destroyed Tennessee's hopes for a National Championship. That game ended a decade of success for The Vols and began one for us.

Another one that can be argued is the 2003 SEC Championship Game rematch against Georgia.

I was one of those people from the student section crowding the field before the last play

I can accept the bring back the magic game

But seriously does anyone really think Gerry would have won a NC?

Edit: but it did start the rebound after 6 horrid years

Even though I agree that the 2000 Tennessee and 2003 UGA games were landmark games, my favorite game from early in the century that told this was not going to be the same old LSU was at Bama in 2001.
Davey threw for 521 yards against the Toothless Wonders and Reed caught 19 passes. I loved every millisecond of it.
Now that I think of it, beating Bama in Tiger Stadium in 2000 for the first time since '69 was a great moment also.....

What about "Tonight we're gonna party like its 1969"

LSU 30 Bama 28 for the first Tiger win at home over the Tide since 1969 (30 years of not beating the Tide in TS).

Seriously, beating a 6-6 Bama team over UGA and UT? okey dokey

Lest we forget beating the 2000 3-8 Bama team that lost to LA Tech, State by a score of 29-7, UCLA by 10 points and Southern Miss 21-zippo?

Wow, easy to please win it comes to big wins but here's to ya. This reaffirms who we are and where Bama stands in college football lore. Thanks my friend

Dinardo was not gonna win a NC but AU 1995 was the beginning of the resurgence. There was excitement, young talent, and a commitment to fielding a good team.

I've still never seen that game or the 2001 SEC Champ game

I was at sea for both of them

Game that started LSU back was September 16, 1995 against Auburn, Bring back the Magic Game. We beat #5 Auburn wearing White jerseys at home for the 1st time since 82. We didn't climb to the mountain top that season. Instead, we made that first step. Hate Dinardo or love him but he laid the foundation for the future success of our progam.

Sorry but the resurgence started in the Florida game at home in 97'. After that win is when in state recruiting took back off and instate guys became interested in LSU again. We started to get Monroe and New Orleans guys again which we had not done as a regular occurrence since the 70's. That game against the #1 Gators was the most electric I have ever seen Tiger Stadium...

The next 2 seasons, LSU had a losing record. The resurgance in in-state recruiting was kicked off by Dinardo, but it was before, not after, that Florida game.
