I have to say, comparing the two I was far more angry/pissed off after 1/9/12 and more depressed/disappointed after Stony Brook.

that's pretty bad but I was only 11 years old. getting boners in class was more embarrassing at that point in my life

It means that the loss, while an upset, is not an "upset of monumental proportions." Didn't Stony Brook have 7 or 8 guys drafted? Thats an awful lot of talent on that roster. It's not unheard of for smaller schools to compete in baseball. All you need is for your team to get hot at the right time and servicable pitching. Stony Brook had both.
Yes, it sucked, but hardly was embarrassing.

Actually 1/9 because of the way Miles handled the whole Jarret Lee/JJ thing. Lee should have been given the chance. JJ was totally inept and did nothing to deserve second half playing time. The game plan was horrid and as I have to come to understand was not even the game plan they worked on for most of the prep time leading up to the game. I've talked to Bama people who still wonder what team that was that showed up in New Orleans.
